Floral Printed Maxi

I am not one who loves maxi dresses, as I feel like they hide my curves.

I saw this dress though and I had to have it! The floral print was such a transitional summer-to-fall print and the slit made it sexy but still classy.

I added a cami because the deep v was a little too much for me, but I also think a bandeau would work great under this!

Unfortunately I bought this dress at a boutique here in San Jose, and it doesn't sell online. I added some similar dresses and sandals below if you would like to get my look!

Cheers to Tuesday! Hope you had a fabulous day :)

Pretending I'm in Paris

I love Paris' street style. Parisians have this way of making everything chic and effortless--even if it is jeans with holes and tattered up boots.

Another staple of their wardrobe is black. Black skirts, black tops, black jeans, black boots...all black everything!

Today's look is an easy, affordable Parisian inspired look.

Channeling my inner Holly Golightly with the neighborhood kitty. Frankie doesn't seem to be too enthused with my affections :)

One of the keys to my black on black look is adding pops of color and gold details. This outfit featured a statement necklace, pink earrings, and my favorite Benefit lip tint. The tint can be purchased here!

Fitz saw me playing with Frankie and he was so jealous. He doesn't handle sharing momma well :)

There are still some major post Christmas sales going on--Nordstrom has some great sweaters!

Weekend Recap

I had such a great weekend! Besides getting a cold, which I am praying will not morph into a sinus infection, I had a restful and relaxing past few days.

On Saturday morning I did a photoshoot for The Z List. I am super excited to see how it turns out!

The photographer was awesome, and super sweet. She is SO talented and is definitely great at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Thanks, Natalie! You can see more of her work here!

After my photoshoot, I came back home and rested. I took Fitz out for a fall walk with one of my housemates, and then I spent the afternoon reading on the couch. My really good friend Nicki came last night, all the way from L.A. She is spending the weekend in Raleigh because of a potential job, so she wanted to see me and Wake. I took her to our men's soccer game, and I'm so glad I did because we won! It was a huge game (we played Carolina and they were ranked #2) and definitely boosted our national rankings (I mean we were #4 which is pretty good...but a win never hurts!) I am so proud of our men's team. They work so hard and represent Wake so well! I smell a natty....

This morning I took Nicki to my favorite coffee spot in Winston. Camino is a local favorite. They make great beverages and are known for their bread/pastry items. If you're in Winston Salem, I definitely recommend it!

One of the reasons why I love fall so much is because of the cute clothes. The sweater dress I'm wearing is a new buy from ASOS. I love the brand Vila, they make some great dresses. You can find a similar sweater dress here.

I am also so happy it is boot season! I am wearing these Frye's.  (I got them at the Nordstrom anniversary sale as a gift, or else I would never spend that much!)

I love to cook so I made tortilla soup for dinner. My housemates said it was great (I wouldn't really know because I don't have all my taste buds back from my cold) and I'll post the recipe tomorrow.

I'm gearing up for a busy week at school because of my involvement with a new student organization. Check out www.trailblaze-wfu.com for more info! It is a cause I am very passionate about!

That wraps up my weekend!

Lots of love,

Dress it up, dress it down: white eyelet open back edition

If you know me well, you know that I have a very distinct color palette. My best friend Maddi and my mom used to make fun of me because I only would wear neutral colors like beige, creams, and grey. I have since expanded, but I am still loyal to my basic shades!

I love to wear white. I don't really know why, because I'm pretty pale, but I just like the color! One of my favorite finds this summer was this white Madewell dress.

I love wearing this dress. It is very comfortable, has a open back, and is very flattering. The best part about this dress is its versatility. You can dress it up or down!

If you're interested in the dress, click here. Bonus, it is on sale!

For this outfit, I paired it with a gold hoops (thanks Taylor), Lily and Laura bracelets, and my own bangle. As for shoes, you can pretty much whatever you want. I intended to wear some booties, but it was too hot for boots. I paired it with Jack Rodgers, but absolutely any shoe you're comfortable in is what will look good.

Thanks, dolls!
