Winter Staple: Stadium Coat

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful time ringing in 2017. I promised this blog post two days ago...and I am two days late. Sometimes with life, you just have to roll with the punches of flight delays, fevers, and so on. I am back in North Carolina after a wonderful holiday visit with family and friends. I will be posting my New Year's Resolutions soon, and I promise to be keeping them.

Today's post is all about my new obsession, my stadium coat! I got it as a gift for Christmas, and I have been wearing it nonstop.

If you live in a place where it hits below 40 degrees in the winter, a coat is an essential! I got a parka from J. Crew last season, so I knew this would be a good coat.

This coat is easy to pair with anything! I got grey because I am obsessed with neutrals, but it comes in so many colors.

I'm wearing my favorite leather leggings (another wardrobe staple) and I topped the look off with my favorite Rebecca Minkoff purse.

The coat is pricey, but definitely a wise investment! I can't wait to blog more in 2017 and expand The Z List. I have exciting plans and I can't wait for y'all to join me on the adventure.

Cowel Neck Craving

Happy Sunday! I hope y'all had a fabulous weekend. We had some of the best weather so I took Fitz to the dog park twice and actually enjoyed iced coffee.

Today's look is for cozier weather. I absolutely love sweater weather, and crave it starting in August.

I am obsessed with cowel and turtleneck sweaters! They are so comfy and chic.

I snagged this sweater at Express over Christmas and have been wearing it non stop. It looks great with jeans, a skirt, or a dress.

Now that the weather is starting to warm up, I can't wait to break out my spring gear.

xx,

Neutral lovin'

Mood: grey and black.

Honestly, I have been wearing a whole lot of grey and black lately.

I have been really getting into skirts and high boots. Over the knee boots are totally in right now. I feel like most people feel as if they can't pull off OTK boots, but I believe you can rock anything as long as you set your mind to it :)

I wear mine with skirts, leggings, dresses...really whatever!

Also, this entire outfit is on sale! WAHOO! You can find the skirt here and a similar sweater here

My boots were gifted, but I found them here . They are 50% off and free shipping--such a good deal!

I have linked the skirt and a similar sweater in the links below. If you click on the picture, it should take you straight to products!

Quick tip: add a pop of color (i.e. lipstick, shoes, jewelry) to a grey/black look!

Impeccable Pig Dress + Weekend Plans

Today's look is one of my new favorites. I cannot get enough of this dress! It is so comfortable, warm, and a great addition to your winter wardrobe.

Sometimes, when you dress more "professionally," it is easy to slip into monotony. I think that this dress does a great job of mixing things up!

People always ask me to comment on my style. Am I boho because I grew up near S.F., or do I fall into a more preppy/classic look? The short answer: I don't know what my style is!  I like to say I am "board room, London, or bar"  because my clothes are often  professional, edgy, flirty, or fun!

I got this dress from the Impeccable Pig. This summer my mom and I did a girls trip to Charleston and my friend Allison (who is a S.C. native) suggested that I stop by The Impeccable Pig. Well I did, and I am now an I.P.-holic.

The dress is uber comfortable, and makes you feel confident and sexy. I have always been self conscious of my body because I was a super early bloomer (like I wore an A cup bra in 4th grade) and I am more curvy. This dress makes me feel great, and I love that.

The boots are from my momma's closet. Word to the wise: do not pack at 2 A.M., you will forget things :)

My tights are from J. Crew--I am a huge fan of their tights!

Finally, when it comes to more boring colors (aka white, beige, black, navy, etc) I like to add a pop of color. The earrings definitely add some spark to my outfit!

Anyway, I am off to Kansas City in the morning for the College Cup! Heartbroken that I won''t get to watch my boys win a National Championship, but I am excited to watch some good soccer. I am going with my brothers, so it will be a really great bonding trip. Our motto: Anybody but Stanford! I won't rant, cause than we will really be here for days.

I can't wait to share photos and outfits from my trip!

Comment on what your weekend plans are!

Last Day at Home {for a bit}

Today was my last day at home, but only for a bit! I am actually coming home in a week, because I only have one exam.

While I am still battling my sickness, I am starting to feel better.

Today's look is a new favorite! I got the skirt for 15$, and it is still for sale on Zara online. You can find it here.

The shirt is an oldie, but a goodie. I picked it up at J. Crew a few years ago and it has been a faithful partner to many skirts and sweaters.

I paired my look with my favorite knit vest, which happens to be fur lined! I also wore tights (#sickie) and big earrings. To cap off my look, I wore my favorite grey booties!

My best friend Maddi took these photos! She is the best. And she puts up with a coughing girl. :)

Cheers to y'all!
