Winter Staple: Stadium Coat

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a wonderful time ringing in 2017. I promised this blog post two days ago...and I am two days late. Sometimes with life, you just have to roll with the punches of flight delays, fevers, and so on. I am back in North Carolina after a wonderful holiday visit with family and friends. I will be posting my New Year's Resolutions soon, and I promise to be keeping them.

Today's post is all about my new obsession, my stadium coat! I got it as a gift for Christmas, and I have been wearing it nonstop.

If you live in a place where it hits below 40 degrees in the winter, a coat is an essential! I got a parka from J. Crew last season, so I knew this would be a good coat.

This coat is easy to pair with anything! I got grey because I am obsessed with neutrals, but it comes in so many colors.

I'm wearing my favorite leather leggings (another wardrobe staple) and I topped the look off with my favorite Rebecca Minkoff purse.

The coat is pricey, but definitely a wise investment! I can't wait to blog more in 2017 and expand The Z List. I have exciting plans and I can't wait for y'all to join me on the adventure.

My Favorites: Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale

Happy post Christmas!

Now that the holidays have come and gone, the returns seem to be piling up. To be honest, I hate the mall during this time. It is always so crowded, so often shopping from my couch is much more appealing. Nordstrom makes that so easy!

Also, the boots I linked in my Instagram can be found here

5) Sam Edelman Slouch Boots  6) Burberry Parka

Here are some of my favorites from the Nordstrom half yearly sale. While I have ENDLESS favorites, I narrowed it down to my six favorites. I'd love to hear what you like! The sale runs until January 2nd, and shipping is free (yipee!).

Floral Printed Maxi

I am not one who loves maxi dresses, as I feel like they hide my curves.

I saw this dress though and I had to have it! The floral print was such a transitional summer-to-fall print and the slit made it sexy but still classy.

I added a cami because the deep v was a little too much for me, but I also think a bandeau would work great under this!

Unfortunately I bought this dress at a boutique here in San Jose, and it doesn't sell online. I added some similar dresses and sandals below if you would like to get my look!

Cheers to Tuesday! Hope you had a fabulous day :)

The One with the Orange Kimono

Today embarks the beginning of grad festivities. All of my immediate family has flown in (sans my adorable niece and her momma) and also my auntie/godmom. I am waiting on my absolute best friend, but she is coming tomorrow evening!

You never know what NC weather will throw at you. Yesterday it stormed frantically, and the roads were flooded. Today it was 82, but absolutely stunning.

I am obsessed with crop tops and skirts (Thanks, T Swift!). They are the perfect combination for date nights or fun summer days.

I added my cheetah print vans and my new kimono. I adore the color and am glad I can transition it into my fall wardrobe.

I love these "vans." They are from J. Crew, and I wear them all the time!

I am so glad my family has arrived! I adore them and am glad they are here to celebrate my collegiate accomplishments.

The Flowery Dress

I love floral dresses! I am not the biggest pattern person, but for some reason I do love a nice floral pattern.

My friend Taylor noted that this could easily be a fall dress as well--it is perfect for tailgate season!

It was a great dress for today's excursions and it is super comfy.

Today was so fabulous! We walked quite a bit though, and these boots were not made for walking distances. My feet kinda hate me right now.

My friend Katie and I outside of the National Archives. Not going to lie...I was totally thinking about National Treasure!

We spent the day at the National Gallery and it was so great! Taylor adores art, so she was in heaven. I love impressionism and anything French, so I soaked in some time with my good friend Monet.

Hope your day was fab!
